Role Overview

The Head of Sales will play a crucial role in leveraging our extensive processing experience and industry connections to develop a strong sales framework.

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board, the Vice President of Sales will be instrumental in crafting and implementing a sales strategy that drives the success of Northwest Fisheries Association. This position involves nurturing relationships across retail, B2B, and food service sectors.

The ideal candidate will have established relationships within the grocery retail market, especially in the frozen seafood category, and a proven history of developing and executing successful sales strategies on a national scale.

Success in this role requires a proactive, innovative mindset, with the ability to navigate between strategic planning and hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within retail, B2B, and food service sectors.
  • Negotiate and finalize agreements, consistently aiming to achieve or surpass sales targets.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board to design a comprehensive sales strategy for various market segments.
  • Establish key performance indicators, set ambitious growth targets, and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Build strong partnerships with the Procurement team to forecast demand and streamline order fulfillment.
  • Work alongside the Creative team to develop effective marketing materials.
  • Engage with the Operations team to understand production capabilities and align sales efforts accordingly.
  • Travel frequently to meet clients and strengthen partnerships.
  • Achieve financial objectives while emphasizing sustainable profitability and aligning with the company's core values.
  • Adopt a client-focused approach, managing expectations and collaborating across departments to resolve any issues.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years in progressively responsible sales roles.
  • At least 5 years of experience in seafood sales.
  • Experience managing annual sales of at least $20 million.
  • Proven track record of selling to major US grocery retailers.
  • Strong skills in sales and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
