Role Overview

The organization seeks to leverage its extensive processing heritage to establish a formidable sales program, supported by a vast audience and premium-quality seafood access.

Reporting directly to the CEO and under the guidance of the Board, the Head of Sales will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the sales strategy that drives the organization's success. This position will focus on nurturing relationships across retail, B2B, and food service sectors.

The ideal candidate will have established connections within the grocery retail industry, particularly in the frozen seafood category, and a proven history of developing and leading successful sales initiatives on a national scale.

Success in this role requires a candidate who is innovative, resourceful, and eager to identify new revenue streams while adeptly balancing strategic planning with tactical execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities within retail, B2B, and food service sectors.
  • Engage in negotiations and secure agreements, aiming to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board to develop a comprehensive sales strategy for various sectors.
  • Establish key performance indicators, set ambitious growth targets, and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Build strong partnerships with the Procurement team to create volume forecasts and ensure efficient order fulfillment.
  • Work alongside the Creative team to develop a seamless design service.
  • Establish a strong collaboration with the Operations team to understand production capabilities.
  • Travel regularly to connect with clients and strengthen partnerships.
  • Achieve financial objectives while emphasizing sustainable profitability aligned with the organization's vision and values.
  • Adopt a proactive, client-focused approach, manage expectations, and collaborate across departments to resolve any issues.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years in progressive sales roles.
  • At least 5 years of experience in seafood sales.
  • Proven ability to manage annual sales exceeding $20 million.
  • Demonstrated success in selling to major grocery retailers.
  • Strong skills in Sales and Contract Negotiation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
