Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Program Specialist to join our team at AltaPointe Health. As a Program Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care and support to children and adolescents with severe emotional or behavioral disturbances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and documentation of consumer progress, ensuring timely and accurate completion of required documentation.
  • Engage consumers in planned activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and providing support with personal hygiene, medical appointments, and daily living skills.
  • Collaborate with treatment team members, including nursing staff, therapy staff, and recreation therapy staff, to ensure effective milieu management and crisis intervention.
  • Lead program groups and activities, promoting consumer engagement and participation in treatment.
  • Complete Environment of Care (EOC) unit checklists and report findings to supervisor.
  • Ensure units, rooms, and common areas remain neat, tidy, and in good operating condition.
  • Effectively communicate with treatment team members regarding consumer progress, regression, and crisis situations.
  • Model appropriate behavior, including good communication skills, grooming habits, and emotional maturity.
  • Transport consumers to prescribed locations or go on unit errands as directed.
  • Follow curriculum as outlined by supervisor, conducting groups and consumer engagement in a timely manner.
  • Manage assigned unit to ensure consumers are in groups, meals, and completing hygiene as scheduled.
  • Apply seclusion and restraint according to Policy and Procedures.
  • Meet AltaPointe productivity standards.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a mental health discipline or Social Work preferred.
  • Training will be provided in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in child and adolescent populations, growth and development, principles of play therapy, behavior management, crisis intervention, and community resources.
  • Knowledge of cultural diversity, educational methods, and basic interventions for child and adolescent mental and behavioral health disorders.
