Electrical Maintenance Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at AMS Staffing Inc. in Mobile, AL area. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining industrial process automation systems, motor control, and low voltage and medium voltage distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and maintain industrial process automation systems, including PLCs, HMI systems, and motor control systems.
  • Perform maintenance on low voltage and medium voltage distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, and motor control centers.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain industrial communication systems, including LAN systems, Profibus, Profinet, and CAN bus.
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFAs) and execute Corrective Actions (CAs) to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Develop and review PMs to improve equipment reliability.
  • Conduct maintenance activities using SAP software.
  • Train, coach, and mentor maintenance technicians and operations team members.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial Electricity, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with electrical maintenance in an industrial environment, preferably in a steel mill.
  • Competencies in multiple programming platforms, including ladder logic, function block, and textual/statement list logic.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of X-Ray measurement systems, power feeding and distribution systems, motors and drives, and technological functions.
  • Experience with boilers, acid regeneration, air compressors, and cooling circuits.
  • Cold Rolling Mill experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of how to navigate SAP.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Practices.
