Job Overview

Position Summary

The role of a Field Service Engineer involves acting as a customer solutions advocate. This position requires coordination and supervision of activities related to evaluating existing customer equipment and delivering innovative solutions through equipment recommendations, troubleshooting, and addressing technical issues reported by customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site visits to gather data, collaborate with customers on potential solutions, and oversee the installation of equipment.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues reported by customers, perform thorough analyses, and propose effective solutions.
  • Maintain strong communication with customers to ensure timely updates and exceptional service.
  • Ensure that all new or modified equipment installations meet industry standards, company protocols, and customer specifications.
  • Review performance documentation from customers and inspect malfunctioning or damaged equipment to assess the nature and extent of issues.
  • Analyze inspection reports to identify problem sources and recommend necessary repairs, replacements, upgrades, or corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Field Service, Engineering, and other departments to expedite problem resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of reports and submit them to the Field Service Supervisor.
  • Provide insights to the Field Service Supervisor regarding recurring equipment issues to facilitate corrective actions in design, production, or service.
  • Exhibit regular attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work on-site and overtime as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and interact respectfully with customers, vendors, and management.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or a minimum of three years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
