Job Overview

Salary: $30-$36 per hour

Lighting Maintenance Inc. ("LMI") is on the lookout for a dedicated Electrical Service Technician to join our team. This role involves the upkeep, repair, and installation of electrical and lighting systems. Our projects span across two primary sectors: Commercial and Government. You will be responsible for diagnosing electrical issues and installing new wiring or components. Position Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a DOT card
  • Education: High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent training
  • Journeyman's License (not signed into a J-card)
  • Completion of a 4-5 year apprenticeship program with proof
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical experience
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Willingness to comply with scheduled emergency service
  • Proficient in troubleshooting
  • Experience with blueprints
  • Bucket truck experience or willingness to train
  • Preferred experience operating equipment
  • Ability to complete daily job tickets
  • Daily completion of DVIR/JHA required
Essential Skills:
  • Ability to accurately identify conductor colors
  • Understanding of blueprints and schematics
  • Proficient in the use of power tools
  • Capable of trench digging and using hand tools or power equipment
  • Knowledge of safe work practices as per company policies
  • Ability to operate two-handed tools like cable cutters and hammer drills
  • Experience driving company vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions
  • Ability to read and interpret maps, manuals, and specifications
  • Experience operating personal lifts and powered equipment safely
Working Conditions:
  • Able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, with potential for overtime and night shifts
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
  • Ability to lift up to 51 pounds
  • Comfortable climbing various types of ladders
  • Capable of performing overhead work for full day assignments
  • Good vision (normal or corrected)
