Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to contribute to our Community Development Department. This role involves working on a variety of site projects across northern New England.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Civil Engineer will:

  • Lead site and civil engineering projects from initial design through to permitting.
  • Oversee detailed site design aspects, including layout, grading, utilities, and erosion & sediment controls.
  • Conduct stormwater drainage design and civil engineering for municipal, institutional, and public works projects.
  • Utilize hydraulic and hydrologic modeling to inform the design of culverts, as well as dam and bridge repairs and replacements.
  • Mentor project staff to foster their professional growth.
  • Engage in business development related to site development and municipal engineering.
  • Manage client communications and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure adherence to high-quality standards through a rigorous QA/QC process.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or civil and environmental engineering.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience (10+ years preferred).
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; experience with HydroCAD or similar tools is advantageous.
  • Skills in GIS, HEC-RAS, and/or OpenRoads modeling are beneficial.
  • Experience in logging test pits and evaluating soils for wastewater and stormwater management is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
