We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to enhance our Community Development Department. This role involves engaging in a variety of site projects across northern New England.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Civil Engineer will:

  • Lead site and civil engineering projects from the design phase through to permitting.
  • Conduct detailed site design, including layout, grading, utilities, and erosion and sediment control measures.
  • Design stormwater drainage systems and undertake civil engineering tasks for municipal, institutional, and public works projects.
  • Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling to support the design of culverts, dams, and bridge repairs or replacements.
  • Mentor project staff to promote their professional growth.
  • Assist in business development efforts related to site development and municipal engineering.
  • Manage client communications and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure adherence to high-quality standards through a rigorous QA/QC process.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or civil and environmental engineering.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience (10+ years preferred).
  • A valid PE license.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; experience with HydroCAD or similar tools is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with GIS, HEC-RAS, and/or OpenRoads modeling is a plus.
  • Experience in logging test pits and evaluating soils for wastewater and stormwater disposal is beneficial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
