Position Overview: Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to undertake the responsibilities of assembling, maintaining, and repairing various machinery and vehicles. The ideal candidate will ensure the functionality and reliability of engines, mechanical systems, and other equipment.

Key attributes for success in this role include excellent manual dexterity and a keen attention to detail. The ability to operate various machines and tools while adhering to safety protocols is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assembling mechanical components or machines according to specifications.
  • Conducting regular checks on machines, engines, and transmissions, including running diagnostic tests to identify functionality issues.
  • Organizing repairs to maximize reliability and efficiency.
  • Addressing reported issues promptly and effectively.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
  • Cleaning and lubricating machinery components as necessary.
  • Managing engine fluids and components, ensuring restocking when required.
  • Providing guidance to machine or vehicle users on maintenance and preventative measures.
  • Carrying out repairs on diesel equipment, trailers, cranes, and other machinery.
  • Maintaining logs of work performed and documenting issues encountered.
  • Complying with all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Mechanic role.
  • Extensive knowledge of DOT regulations and experience with annual inspections.
  • Proven experience in maintaining diesel machinery and understanding hydraulic, electrical, and other systems.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow established procedures, including reading instructions and blueprints.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent physical stamina and strength.
