Position Overview: The Senior Business Consultant Level III role is integral to supporting the United States Coast Guard within the Business and Logistics Management Support Services office. This position entails providing expert guidance and assistance in various facets of governmental business operations. Responsibilities include business re-engineering, process development, metrics formulation, facility and workforce planning, as well as communications and marketing strategy development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business process improvement, re-engineering, or management, with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert consultation and support in governmental business practices, focusing on business re-engineering and process development.
  • Formulate and implement business metrics and performance indicators.
  • Assist in planning for facilities and workforce to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Design and execute communications and marketing strategies.
  • Address management-related challenges and provide strategic insights.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of technical data.
  • Interpret and apply acquisition policies, regulations, and directives to consulting initiatives.
Position Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in business process development, re-engineering, or management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Strong analytical and research skills to manage complex technical data.
  • Ability to interpret government policies, regulations, and directives, applying these interpretations effectively and legally to all relevant activities.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Prior experience working with the United States Coast Guard in support of CG-4, CG-6, CG-8, or CG-9.
  • Advanced degree in Business Management, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • Experience in government agencies or within a government contracting context.
  • Proven project management skills with a successful track record.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Certification in business analysis, project management, or related fields.
