As a Senior Risk Manager at Capital One, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with Core Billing capabilities and operational processes. Risk Managers serve as the essential line of defense, ensuring the stability and profitability of the organization.

In this role, you will be a key player in the Core Modernization and Horizontal Engineering initiative, which aims to transform our core systems into a fully modernized technology framework. Your expertise in risk management will be crucial as you drive complex initiatives related to processes, products, risks, requirements, controls, and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive risk management framework that provides visibility and governance over processes and platforms.
  • Act as a liaison between business partners, technology teams, and assurance functions, including legal and compliance, to achieve significant risk reductions.
  • Analyze data and reporting to derive valuable business insights, enhancing decision-making processes.
  • Design and implement internal governance processes to strengthen risk management practices.
  • Evaluate controls and extract insights from issues and events across various business sectors.
  • Oversee and deliver on critical program deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Risk Management (Financial Services, Technology, Digital, Audit, Compliance).
  • At least 3 years of experience collaborating with internal business clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's/MBA.
  • 2+ years of experience with significant system conversions.
  • 2+ years of experience in risk/audit/consulting for modern cloud-based technology solutions.
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience leading cross-functional projects in Risk.
  • 5+ years of Risk Management experience (Financial Services, Payments, Technology, Digital, Audit, Compliance).
  • Professional certifications in risk management and/or assurance (e.g., Certified Risk Management Professional, Certified Internal Auditor).
