Position: Senior Risk Manager (Card) (Hybrid)

As a Senior Risk Manager at Capital One, you will engage with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with Core Billing capabilities and operational processes. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability and profitability of our organization.

Senior Risk Managers at Capital One are proactive professionals with exceptional organizational and communication skills. They enjoy high visibility across various business lines and collaborate with Executives to devise and implement innovative strategies for risk identification and mitigation.

The Core Modernization and Horizontal Engineering division is undergoing a significant transformation of our core systems, transitioning to a fully modernized technology stack. Effective risk management is essential throughout this journey. In this capacity, you will lead complex initiatives related to processes, products, risks, requirements, controls, and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive risk management framework that provides visibility and governance over processes and platforms.
  • Act as a liaison between business partners, technology teams, and assurance functions, including legal and compliance, to achieve meaningful risk reductions.
  • Analyze data and reporting to extract valuable business insights, enhancing decision-making processes.
  • Design and implement internal governance processes to strengthen risk management practices.
  • Evaluate controls and derive insights from incidents across various business areas.
  • Oversee the management and delivery of critical program objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Risk Management within Financial Services, Technology, Digital, Audit, or Compliance.
  • At least 3 years of experience collaborating with internal business clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree (MBA).
  • 2+ years of experience with major system conversions.
  • 2+ years of experience in risk/audit/consulting for modern cloud-based technology solutions.
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience leading cross-functional projects in Risk.
  • 5+ years of experience in Risk Management across various sectors.
  • Professional certifications in risk management or assurance (e.g., Certified Risk Management Professional, Certified Internal Auditor).
