Position Overview:

We are seeking a knowledgeable Project Management Specialist to contribute to large-scale scientific research and development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist principal investigators or project directors in facilitating and coordinating project activities, reporting, sponsor communication, and other assigned duties.
  • Collaborate with project staff to develop and maintain timelines, cost estimates, and assist with risk assessment and change management.
  • Provide daily support for project schedule and cost management, status updates, forecasting, and assist in generating monthly project performance reports.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as directed by the principal investigator or project director.
  • Support project management staff in preparing for various project reviews, including internal and external status assessments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business, engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently on complex tasks while supporting team members.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of project management best practices, including schedule creation, resource allocation, and project baseline maintenance.
  • Proven ability to work successfully in interdisciplinary project environments and scientific collaborations involving academia, national laboratories, and other scientific organizations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with senior-level clients.
  • Experience managing large and/or complex projects.

Job Type: Full Time

Location: Hybrid option available.
