New Life Centers is dedicated to providing comprehensive, community-focused mentoring initiatives for youth and their families. Our primary aim is to engage with gang-involved youth, those on probation, and at-risk individuals referred by local educational institutions and community organizations. By addressing these needs, we strive to foster a safer environment and empower young individuals to become constructive members of their communities.

Role Summary

The IT Support Specialist is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, responsible for overseeing all IT operations at New Life Centers. This role involves aligning technological strategies with the organization's goals, ensuring that IT services effectively support both staff and program participants. The IT Support Specialist will troubleshoot existing applications, develop new technical solutions, and collaborate with technology partners to enhance IT services across various locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and staff to promptly address any IT-related safety concerns.
  • Source and procure cost-effective materials and supplies for IT operations.
  • Efficiently manage time to complete assigned projects within set deadlines.
  • Keep the Operations team informed about the progress of IT initiatives.
  • Research and recommend technology solutions that align with New Life Centers' objectives.
  • Oversee the implementation of new or upgraded information systems, ensuring clear plans and accountability.
  • Develop and deliver training on IT components relevant to NLC services for staff.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive IT disaster recovery plan.
  • Administer the IT department's budget to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Manage user accounts on the network, ensuring proper access and security measures are in place.
  • Provide support for user computers, servers, email systems, and network connectivity.
  • Assist users with software and hardware issues, offering solutions and guidance.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of operating systems and applications to provide effective support.
  • Evaluate software and hardware efficiency, identifying areas for user training.
  • Coordinate the procurement and installation of IT equipment and software.
  • Manage projects assigned to external IT consultants as needed.
  • Support web development and maintenance efforts when required.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Team on website and collaboration tools.
  • Participate in team meetings to prioritize projects and resolve networking issues.
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing IT activities and system performance.
  • Implement and monitor a staff technology safety plan.
  • Engage in evaluations and audits as necessary.
  • Exemplify the values of New Life Centers in all professional interactions.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Mandated Reporter is required (training provided).
  • Successful completion of background checks is mandatory.
  • One year of experience in an IT role is preferred.
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent certifications (e.g., A+, MCSE, MCSA, CCNA) is desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Willingness to learn and proficiently use Microsoft 365 and relevant information systems.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • A valid driver's license is required, with the ability to travel as necessary.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
