Program Operations Manager

Join L3 Harris as a Program Operations Manager and lead the execution of space-based optical systems from conceptualization to delivery. As a key member of our Wilmington team, you will be responsible for driving collaboration with design engineering to optimize design for manufacturability and test (DFMAT), ensuring seamless integration of new products into our production environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead cross-functional teams to plan and execute operational activities, including design for manufacturability, production planning, and manufacturing execution.
- Provide direction to manufacturing engineers and technicians on the assembly and integration of opto-mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Estimate and track manufacturing costs, initiate continuous improvement activities, and collaborate with design engineers to apply DFMAT, APQP, and Lean manufacturing strategies.
- Support design engineering, analysis, program management, and IPT leads, process development, and proposal activities.
- Create and deliver presentations for peer reviews, manufacturing readiness reviews, internal management reviews, and customer reviews.
- Bachelor's degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience or graduate degree and minimum 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior program operations management experience.
- General knowledge of optical hardware, electrical assemblies, structural bonding, contamination control, process layout, and procedure writing.
- Experience with optical or electrical engineering, Gage, Dimension, and Tolerancing (GD&T), and working in clean room environments.
- Security clearance desired, but not required. Lean (Green Belt, Black Belt) certification and CAD training (Solid Works/AutoCAD) are also preferred.
