Position Overview

SUMMARY: The HR Business Partner will be instrumental in shaping the organizational culture of our company. This role is pivotal in embodying the principles that foster a highly motivated workforce.

This position will oversee, strategize, and implement HR initiatives encompassing administration, employee relations, retention strategies, policy enforcement, talent acquisition, and training support. You will ensure compliance with internal protocols as well as federal, state, and local labor regulations.

The HR Business Partner will primarily operate from our Hudson, MA location, with occasional support to our Bedford, MA site as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the local HR Team to:
  • Facilitate the execution and management of HR initiatives at designated locations.
  • Work closely with the HR Manager to uphold compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist in managing employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to manage leave of absence and return-to-work programs in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Administer leave of absence and workers' compensation programs for local HR teams.
  • Provide insights and collaborate with the HR Manager on departmental needs and process enhancements.
  • Lead and coordinate employee recognition programs and engagement activities.
  • Participate in project-related tasks as assigned by the Senior Director of HR.
  • Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing direct labor recruitment, conducting interviews, and facilitating the hiring process for production floor positions.
  • Managing background checks, drug screenings, and health assessments.
  • Maintaining partnerships with staffing agencies to optimize recruitment strategies.
  • Tracking hours worked by temporary employees and coordinating payroll submissions.
  • Maintaining accurate headcount records for all employees and temporary staff.
  • Addressing employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees, escalating complex issues to the HR Manager.
  • Participating in employee relations discussions as necessary.
  • Monitoring employee engagement and organizational culture.
  • Collaborating with the EH&S team to enhance workplace safety, including leading the local Safety Committee.
  • Working with the HR Manager and GM to establish an Activities Committee that promotes employee engagement through budget-approved events.
  • Managing local HR documentation to comply with privacy and recordkeeping standards.
  • Providing support to fellow HR team members, including administrative tasks.
  • Assisting in tracking compliance with mandatory training programs.
  • Handling data entry for new hires and terminations in payroll systems.
  • Overseeing the uniform program, including vendor relations and tracking requests.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree in human resources or a related field with a minimum of two years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
  • SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS software; familiarity with ADP systems is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution capabilities, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Understanding of personnel and compliance record management.

  • Safety glasses and uniforms are provided as necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This role requires mental focus and visual attention, along with manual dexterity. Occasional lifting of moderate weight may be necessary. The position involves navigating various departments within the organization.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents in both English and Spanish is essential for effective communication with colleagues and management.
