Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated LifeWise Educator to join our team at LifeWise Applicant Center. As a LifeWise Educator, you will be responsible for teaching LifeWise classes, maintaining records, and maintaining the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching and Curriculum Implementation
    • Implement the LifeWise curriculum in the classroom
    • Invest in building relationships with students and praying for them regularly
    • Create and maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment through various teaching techniques and discipline that is redemptive in nature
  • Record Keeping and Maintenance
    • Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to LifeWise Program Director and/or school officials as needed
    • Maintain accurate class rosters including health concerns and special needs of students as noted on parent permission slips
    • Prepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacher
  • Classroom Maintenance and Organization
    • Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-ordered classroom
    • Know procedures for dealing with emergency situations
    • Purchase classroom supplies as needed using funds provided by Program Director
  • Communication and Community Engagement
    • Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
    • Attend annual school open house and other outreach events as available
    • Maintain ongoing dialogue with school personnel to stay apprised of class schedule changes and ensure student well-being
    • Build relationships with volunteers and keep them apprised of schedule changes
    • Submit regular updates, stories, and photos to Program Director
  • Professional Development and Certification
    • Complete the LifeWise Teacher Certification
    • Participate in the annual LifeWise Summit
    • Attend virtual monthly LifeWise Teacher's Lounge meetings
    • Help with fundraising events as needed

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience in either a school or church setting.
  • A mature personal Christian faith consistent with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
  • Active membership in a church in which teaching aligns with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
