Job Summary

The Service Engineer is a key member of our team at IMA Automation, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical and electrical assemblies, as well as retrofits to existing equipment.
  • Assembly and Fabrication: Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to engineering-approved drawings, and design, fabricate, and modify parts as required.
  • Installation and Integration: Perform setup and alignment of systems and subassemblies, and assist the Lead Machine Builder in the debug effort.
  • Customer Support: Travel to customer sites as required for installation and reintegration of systems, and represent IMA Automation in a professional manner.
  • Quality and Safety: Adhere to IMA's health and safety programs, and contribute to the development and maintenance of internal and international standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Make recommendations for quality and cost improvements, and stay up-to-date with current product developments.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Certificate in machining/toolmaking or equivalent work history, and 5+ years of experience as a fine-tune machine assembler or service technician for automation assembly machines.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, working knowledge of 24v sensors, and working knowledge of pneumatics.
  • Communication and Travel: Effective oral and written communication skills, and ability to travel in excess of 75% of the time, including international travel.
