Job Summary

The Mechanical Systems Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and efficiency of mechanical and electrical assemblies, as well as performing retrofits and troubleshooting to existing equipment and robotic work cells. This role requires a strong emphasis on quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service and Maintenance: Respond promptly to service calls, perform maintenance, retrofits, and troubleshooting to ensure equipment is functioning at optimal levels.
  • Assembly and Fabrication: Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to engineering-approved drawings, and design, fabricate, and modify parts as required.
  • Machine Build Integration: Perform all machine build integration support and installation tasks, including setup and alignment of systems and subassemblies.
  • Debugging and Quality Assurance: Assist the Lead Machine Builder in the debug effort, and work with the project team to provide customers with complete and functional systems during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Travel and Site Support: Travel to customer sites as required for installation and reintegration of systems, and represent IMA Automation North America in a professional manner.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to IMA's health and safety programs, and contribute to the development and maintenance of IMA's internal and international standards.
  • Quality Management: Support and participate in Quality Management Program, and make recommendations for quality and cost improvements.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with current product developments, and maintain a working knowledge of ISO standards.
Requirements
  • Certification and Experience: Certificate in machining/toolmaking or equivalent work history, and 5+ years of experience working as a fine-tune machine assembler or service technician for automation assembly machines.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, working knowledge of 24v sensors, and working knowledge of pneumatics.
  • Communication and Travel: Effective oral and written communication skills, and ability to travel in excess of 75% of the time, including international travel.
