Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Tax Compliance Specialist will play a crucial role within the tax compliance division of Herbalife Nutrition.

This position is essential for managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual tax compliance obligations in the United States, supporting the Domestic Tax Manager.

Additionally, this role will contribute to the quarterly provision processes and engage in special projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the tax operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead preparer of US Federal Tax Compliance calculations and submissions, including the assessment of book-to-tax variances.
  • Prepare annual tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimated tax calculations.
  • Assist with various inbound and outbound international forms and adjustments, including foreign tax credits.
  • Manage required elections and disclosures, such as accounting method changes and check-the-box elections.

State and Local Tax Compliance:
  • Lead preparer of State and Local Tax Compliance calculations and submissions, including state modifications and apportionment calculations.
  • Prepare annual tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimated tax calculations.
  • Support the Domestic Tax Manager in responding to state notices.

Audit Support:

Assist in US Federal and State tax audits by collecting data and preparing responses for income tax examinations.


Process Improvement:

Enhance efficiencies and automation within Federal and State compliance processes.


Additional Responsibilities:
  • Lead preparer of Federal and State FIN48 positions.
  • Analyze new legislation impacting quarterly provisions and returns.
  • Calculate Federal and State tax asset depreciation for quarterly provisions.
  • Calculate Federal Sec. 174 adjustments and State blended rates for quarterly provisions.
  • Reconcile income tax general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare various non-income tax filings, including excise tax and information reporting.
  • Provide tax technical support to other departments and partners.
  • Collaborate with third-party service providers for federal and state tax submissions.
  • Engage in special projects as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical and project management capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • A collaborative team player who can effectively work with global tax and finance teams.
  • Proven ability to self-motivate and meet or exceed expectations and deadlines.
  • Solid foundation in accounting principles, including debit-credit and journal entry processes.
  • Strong knowledge of tax depreciation and US tax regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and tax research software.
  • Direct experience with BNA Fixed Asset software, Alteryx, OneStream, Oracle ERP, or similar ERP systems.
  • A minimum of 4 years of tax compliance experience in both Big 4 and multinational corporate environments.
