Infrastructure Operations Manager

We are looking for an individual who is proactive, engaging, and possesses strong stakeholder management capabilities. This role will report to the Director of IT Operations and will be situated in an onsite environment. The successful candidate will leverage extensive knowledge of intricate infrastructure settings and solutions development to deliver agile, integrated, secure, and reliable infrastructure solutions tailored to the business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, document, and uphold system standards while creating a comprehensive Global Infrastructure Design that illustrates how the technologies integrate.
  • Prepare designs based on Site Classification, utilizing templates to consistently build networks at new locations.
  • Develop a high-level Bill of Materials (BOM) to specify equipment for each Site Class and establish a rate card for standard services.
  • Provide insights on future technological advancements that could enhance product offerings and optimize technology costs.
  • Define, develop, and maintain secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure services that align with evolving business requirements.
  • Support operations and ensure seamless service delivery through collaboration with business partners.
  • Enhance proactive management of the environment, leading to a reduction in incidents and improved performance, availability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineers to design and implement servers, storage, and networks while mentoring team members on technical challenges.
  • Monitor the environment for resource utilization and performance, reporting findings to management with mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular tests and audits, troubleshoot issues, and document resolutions.
  • Delegate maintenance tasks to junior engineers to foster knowledge growth.
  • Generate status reports for management and address escalated support issues to drive resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and communicate with users as necessary.
  • Possess a solid understanding of cloud networking technologies and containerization platforms.
  • Participate in the Architectural Review Board to validate designs across various technology domains.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in infrastructure, particularly with VMware, NetApp, and container technologies.
  • Familiarity with technologies including but not limited to: VMware, Cloud, NetApp, Containers, and data center solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to define project requirements.
  • Knowledge of cloud and network architecture, scripting, and protocol writing.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and maintain a positive attitude in problem-solving scenarios.
  • Experience with scalability, failover, and IaaS systems.
  • Relevant certifications such as MCSE.
  • Strong architectural design capabilities and cloud device configuration experience.
  • Willingness to work on-call or during non-standard hours as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of IT service management techniques and the establishment of key operational metrics.
  • Exceptional writing skills for documenting project plans and procedures.
  • Outstanding verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Capability to navigate complex problems involving multiple variables.
  • TOGAF certification is a plus.
