Position Overview

Rutgers University is looking for an Administrative Assistant II to join the Telephone Recovery Services team within Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare.

In this role, the Administrative Assistant II will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of administrative, secretarial, and office support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Program Director, Office Manager, Clinical Supervisors, Supervising Mental Health Specialists, and other staff members as required.
  • Utilize professional judgment in executing tasks while maintaining a demeanor that aligns with the program's standards.
  • Perform typing tasks for the department with a focus on accuracy and adherence to established formats.
  • Achieve a typing accuracy rate of 90-95%, as evaluated by supervisory feedback.
  • Proofread documents to ensure grammatical correctness with a similar accuracy rate of 90-95%.

Position Details:

Part-Time Position | Standard Hours: 35.00 per week | FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited secretarial studies program, along with three (3) years of full-time secretarial experience.
  • Alternatively, four (4) years of relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in typing and word processing, with strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Familiarity with additional software tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft and procurement policies is advantageous.
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are a plus.

Work Environment:

This position is based in an office setting with moderate noise levels. Physical demands include standing, sitting, walking, and effective communication.
