Job Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Consumer Brands Group within the Commercial Business Unit (CBU) and its sales teams. This position involves active participation in month-end closing activities, including reporting, P&L assessments, and balance sheet evaluations. Additionally, the Senior Financial Analyst collaborates closely with marketing to facilitate the stage-gate process and is responsible for implementing continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing processes and reporting efficiency. The analyst will also engage in various special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Analyst will work in partnership with the Commercial sales team to deliver comprehensive business and financial support through the following tasks:
  • Develop, review, and analyze proformas and financial outcomes, while guiding actions to optimize profitability for the division.
  • Evaluate and communicate the profitability effects of sales decisions.
  • Ensure that accruals are accurately recorded in accordance with contractual obligations and properly reflected on the balance sheet, making revisions as necessary.
  • Address financial discrepancies and issues within the business unit to guarantee an accurate P&L statement.
  • Report on variances in comparison to forecasts, plans, and previous year results.
  • Confirm that customer programs and agreements are being adhered to.
  • Support business requirements by generating tailored sales reports.
  • Maintain the internal pricing list, ensuring timely updates.
  • Assist the Commercial Business Units in crafting consistent, precise, and feasible budgets, operating plans, forecasts, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide financial assistance to members of the sales and marketing teams.
  • Coordinate quarterly P&L reviews.
  • Engage in special projects as required.
Qualifications

Education Requirements

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Preferred:
  • MBA
Knowledge & Experience

Required:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Financial or Accounting roles.
Preferred:
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in Finance or Accounting with increasing responsibilities.
  • Expertise in Complex Financial Analysis, with a comprehensive understanding of accounting and finance practices.
  • Experience in project environments or teamwork settings.
  • Prior experience within a sales organization is advantageous.
Technical Skills

Required:
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred:
  • Familiarity with Oracle OneStream.
  • Experience with non-Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, Business Objects).
  • Knowledge of legacy reporting systems (e.g., OnBase).
