Job Overview

Position: Senior Financial Analyst (General)

Location: Cleveland, OH

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Candidate Location: Candidates must be local or willing to commute, as in-office presence is required on a hybrid schedule.


Work Schedule:

The team operates on a 3/2 hybrid schedule, with in-office work expected on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Mondays and Fridays are remote, but office attendance is optional.


Role Responsibilities:

The Senior Financial Analyst will:

  • Implement and manage cost control measures for gas construction projects.
  • Oversee financial reporting and conduct scenario analyses.
  • Develop and assess project estimates, timelines, and capital budgets.
  • Analyze monthly expenditure reports and monitor project costs to ensure adherence to budgets and schedules.
  • Provide management with regular status updates and reports.
  • Support contract negotiations and collaborate with contractors and internal teams on cost management.
  • Ensure compliance with cost and planning control policies.

Key Duties:
  • Consolidate capital expenditure forecasting and budgeting.
  • Compile, review, and present monthly forecasting schedules.
  • Manage Out of Cycle (OOC) capital requests.
  • Lead monthly capital review meetings to ensure SOX compliance.

Economic Model Review:
  • Collaborate with business partners to analyze actuals, variances, and forecast updates.
  • Maintain up-to-date month-to-date spending reports.
  • Perform recurring financial reporting.

Additional Responsibilities:

Engage in various ad hoc tasks as assigned.


Essential Skills:
  • Proficient in SAP and Excel, particularly in creating and reviewing monthly forecasting schedules.
  • Experience managing capital budgets and forecasting across multiple business units.
  • Ability to handle Out of Cycle (OOC) capital requests effectively.
  • Experience leading monthly capital review meetings with a focus on SOX compliance.

Soft Skills:

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Strong communication skills with a focus on transparency.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Leadership skills to effectively manage meetings.

Experience Requirements:

Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, ideally within the power or utilities sector.

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
