POSITION OVERVIEW

Mastech Digital is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Process Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in enhancing our operational efficiency and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Manufacturing Process Specialist, you will play a crucial role in optimizing production processes and ensuring product consistency.
  • We are in search of an enthusiastic individual with strong communication abilities who can enhance process yield and reliability, innovate product offerings, and produce high-quality technical documentation.
  • Evaluate and establish the most effective welding techniques, brazing formulas, and thermal treatment cycles to fulfill client specifications.
  • Analyze historical performance data related to welding, thermal treatment, and brazing processes, and implement improvement strategies to enhance process stability and reliability.
  • Design and execute controlled experiments to identify the process variables that influence the final product quality. Establish controls for critical parameters.
  • Develop comprehensive work instructions to ensure uniformity in outcomes.
  • Design and validate tools and fixtures to facilitate brazing, welding, and thermal treatment operations.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of process failures to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Maintain process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (pFMEA) documentation, focusing on potential failures, occurrence rates, and detection ease. Prioritize actions based on the most significant process risks.
  • Support compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles to enhance operational workflows.
  • Engage in design evaluations to mitigate process-related risks to the lowest feasible level.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a materials science capacity, ideally with hands-on experience in brazing or TIG welding.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory. Familiarity with CAD software, MRP systems, military standards, and AS9100 is highly valued.
