Assembly and Manufacturing Specialist

Boyd Company is seeking a skilled Assembly and Manufacturing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will utilize your advanced assembly and manufacturing skills to assemble, fabricate, build, modify, and adjust a variety of mechanical units and subassemblies with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble mechanical units and subassemblies requiring detailed assembly knowledge and mechanical skill, ensuring precise positioning and connection of numerous parts and mechanisms.
  • Set up and operate various equipment, including saws, drill presses, deburring equipment, tube benders, glass beaders, EDM machines, degreasers, pressure test equipment, assembly fixtures, and hand tools.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, written, and verbal instructions to complete tasks with minimal direction.
  • Inspect produced parts carefully during setup and throughout the assembly process, making adjustments and performing maintenance and lubrication as needed.
  • Lead and instruct less experienced assemblers in correct procedures and recommend improved assembly techniques to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean work area and adhere to all Boyd Company safety rules.
Requirements:
  • Highly developed assembly and manufacturing skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain precise tolerances.
  • Knowledge of mechanical principles and ability to apply them in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and lead less experienced assemblers.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
