Key Responsibilities:
- Determine optimal welding processes, brazing recipes, and heat treatment cycles to meet customer requirements.
- Analyze historical yield and process data for welding, heat treatment, and brazing processes, and implement process improvement actions to enhance stability and consistency.
- Design and conduct designed experiments (DOEs) to identify process parameters affecting finished product quality, and implement controls on key parameters.
- Develop and maintain work instructions to ensure consistent results.
- Design and validate fixtures and tooling to support brazing, welding, and heat treatment processes.
- Conduct process failure analyses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) reports for each process, prioritizing actions based on risk levels.
- Ensure compliance with NADCAP standards.
- Apply lean principles to improve factory operations.
- Participate in design reviews to minimize process risks.
Requirements:
- 0-5 years of experience in a materials science role, preferably with direct experience in brazing or TIG welding.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with CAD, MRP software, military specifications, and AS9100.
