About the PositionThe Human Resources Technician performs a variety of technical and administrative activities in support of a centralized human resources system. This role is responsible for providing HR support to employees, retirees, and applicants, as well as coordinating recruitment and selection processes.
Key Responsibilities- Provides HR support to employees, retirees, and applicants, including answering questions, providing information, and interpreting policies and procedures.
- Coordinates recruitment and selection processes, including creating job announcements, advertising job openings, and evaluating applications.
- Administers benefit plans and programs, including communicating benefit information, processing benefit forms, and resolving benefit-related problems.
- Performs data entry, scanning, indexing, and records management activities related to HR functions.
- Prepares reports, charts, spreadsheets, and other technical data, collects and summarizes information, and prepares written reports and recommendations.
- Ensures data integrity in the HRIS database by running queries and analyzing output, and provides HRIS support for areas of responsibility.
- Two years of progressively responsible experience supporting human resources programs, preferably in a government or utility environment.
- Graduation from a high school or equivalent to two years of college-level coursework in business or personnel administration, a social science, or a related field.
- Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A valid Nevada (or California) driver's license at time of hire and continuing thereafter, and ability to maintain insurability under TMWA's vehicle insurance policy.
- Professional designation in human resources management or a related specialty.
- Experience with HRIS systems and software applications relevant to work performed.
