Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Director to join our team at the City of Reno. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Human Resources Department and providing strategic guidance on all aspects of human resources management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement human resources strategies and policies to support the City's goals and objectives.
  • Manage and supervise a team of human resources professionals to ensure effective delivery of services.
  • Provide guidance and support to department heads and employees on human resources-related matters.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct analyses and make recommendations on human resources-related issues.
  • Develop and manage the department's budget and resources.
  • Represent the City in dealings with various organizations and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Seven years of progressively responsible human resources experience, including two years of public sector management and administrative responsibility.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make recommendations.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to human resources.
