Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Flight Test Instrumentation Manager to join our team at Wisk Aero. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) team, ensuring the development and implementation of world-class FTI solutions for our Gen6 aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the FTI team, accountable for all aspects of the team's work and product delivery.
  • Develop, train, and mentor team members, establishing mature processes and tools for the Gen6 program.
  • Work closely with the Flight Test team to ensure FTI solutions meet their needs for safe and efficient flight test execution.
  • Collaborate with other Product IPTs (Structures, Propulsion, Avionics, etc.) to develop integrated and add-on FTI solutions for their hardware and system monitoring needs.
  • Participate in planning activities and drive successful execution within budget, headcount, and schedule.
  • Stay current on state-of-the-art instrumentation technologies to optimize mass, cost, efficiency, and reliability of FTI solutions.
  • Ensure instrumentation compliance with FAA CFR 14 Part 21 and other airworthiness authorities.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in engineering and 12 years of experience, or M.S. in engineering with 8 years of experience, in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Direct experience in Aircraft Development, Flight Test Instrumentation, or other complex airborne systems.
  • Hands-on experience leading teams in complex, high-stress environments, focusing on safe and efficient flight testing.
  • Proven track record of leading teams that achieved design, implementation, and continued maintenance of complex airborne instrumentation systems.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations for instrumentation and equipment compliance and relevant industry standards for Flight Test Instrumentation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
