Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Flight Test Instrumentation Manager to join our team at Wisk Aero. As a key member of our Aircraft Integration team, you will be responsible for leading our Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) group and ensuring the development and certification of our Gen6 aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the FTI team, accountable for all aspects of the team's product and scope to support the Gen6 program.
  • Support and develop your team, comprised of Mechanical & Electrical designers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Technicians, to establish mature processes and tools for the Gen6 program.
  • Work closely with the Flight Test team to ensure the FTI solution meets their needs for safe and efficient flight test execution.
  • Develop and maintain integrated and add-on FTI solutions for other Product IPTs (Structures, Propulsion, Avionics, etc.).
  • Participate in planning activities and drive successful execution within budget, headcount, and schedule.
  • Stay current on state-of-the-art instrumentation technologies to optimize mass, cost, efficiency, and reliability of FTI solutions.
  • Ensure instrumentation compliance with FAA CFR 14 Part 21 and other Airworthiness Authorities.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in engineering and 12 years of experience, or M.S. in engineering with 8 years of experience, in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Direct experience in Aircraft Development, Flight Test Instrumentation, or other complex airborne systems.
  • Hands-on experience leading teams in complex, high-stress environments, focusing on safe and efficient flight testing.
  • Experience leading teams that achieved the design, implementation, and continued maintenance of complex airborne instrumentation systems.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations for instrumentation and equipment compliance and relevant industry standards for Flight Test Instrumentation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across all levels of an organization.
  • 25% travel required.
