Position Overview:

We are seeking a Manager of Flight Test Instrumentation to join our innovative team. The primary objective of the Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) Manager is to lead and further develop our exceptional FTI Team for the Development and Certification of the Gen6 Aircraft.

As part of the Aircraft Integration team, you will play a crucial role in delivering the Aircraft as a fully developed and certifiable product.

This position requires onsite presence, and you will be expected to work from our designated office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) team, taking full responsibility for the team's scope and its contributions to the Gen 6 Program.
  • Support and mentor a diverse team of Mechanical & Electrical designers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Technicians, while establishing robust processes and tools for the Gen6 program.
  • Promote Wisk's culture, emphasizing safety and inclusivity.
  • Collaborate closely with the Flight Test team to ensure that FTI solutions effectively meet their requirements for safe and efficient flight test execution.
  • Oversee the design, development, procurement, and maintenance of standard flight test equipment, including air data booms, data acquisition units, sensors, wiring, ballast, and cameras.
  • Work in conjunction with other Product Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to create integrated and supplemental FTI solutions for their hardware and system monitoring needs.
  • Participate in all planning activities related to your FTI scope, ensuring successful execution within budget, staffing, and timelines.
  • Stay updated on cutting-edge instrumentation technologies to enhance the mass, cost, efficiency, and reliability of the FTI solutions developed by your team.
  • Ensure compliance of instrumentation with FAA CFR 14 Part 21 and other relevant Airworthiness Authorities.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering with 12 years of experience, or a Master's degree in engineering with 8 years of experience in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Extensive experience in Aircraft Development, particularly in Flight Test Instrumentation or complex airborne systems.

Proven track record of leading teams in high-pressure environments, with a focus on safe and efficient flight testing.

Experience in the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of sophisticated airborne instrumentation systems.

Familiarity with FAA regulations regarding instrumentation and equipment compliance, as well as relevant industry standards for Flight Test Instrumentation.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.

This role may require travel up to 25% of the time.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected salary range for this position is $185,000 - $217,800 annually. This range may vary based on geographical location and relevant job-related experience.
