Reports to: Associate Communications Director

Location: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid - 3 days in office & 2 days remote each week)

Status: Full-Time; Non-Exempt

Salary: $20/hour not to exceed 40 hours/week

The Hub Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting progressive initiatives and advocating for equity and justice within society. We collaborate closely with advocacy organizations to develop impactful campaigns that drive meaningful change.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Communications Intern to join our team and assist in our mission to safeguard reproductive rights and freedoms. This position entails crafting press materials, monitoring news developments, and aiding in policy research efforts. The ideal candidate is an adept writer, researcher, and multitasker with a strong commitment to social justice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the creation of press materials, including media advisories, press releases, and digital content
  • Monitor news stories and pinpoint opportunities for engagement
  • Develop and maintain targeted media lists
  • Assist in policy research and simplify complex information into accessible content

  • Demonstrated passion for progressive initiatives
  • Proficient writer capable of integrating diverse viewpoints
  • Adept at rapid response tasks
  • Effective researcher with strong summarization abilities
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Familiar with current events and the media landscape
  • Prioritizes equity and justice in professional endeavors

Qualifications:

  • Experience in drafting press materials and campaign messaging
  • Previous involvement in progressive issue campaigns or advocacy organizations
