JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Retail Sales Leader at Sunnyside will play a pivotal role in guiding customers—whether recreational, medicinal, or caregivers—in selecting the most suitable cannabis products for their individual needs. Acting as a representative of our mission to normalize and elevate the cannabis experience, you will exemplify exceptional customer service, product expertise, and compliance with state regulations to ensure a premier shopping experience. Additionally, you will assist in onboarding and training new team members while ensuring adherence to company and state regulations.

Our dispensaries typically operate seven days a week, and we value flexibility in scheduling, including opening and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays.

CORE JOB DUTIES
  • Support Wellness Advisors in customer consultations, addressing standard inquiries or concerns.
  • Guide customers in product selection by educating them on various cannabis products and their effects.
  • Utilize effective selling and cross-selling techniques to enhance customer purchases.
  • Ensure proper documentation and identification for customers.
  • Verify the accuracy of orders dispensed to customers promptly; conduct bag and receipt checks.
  • Label and package customer orders efficiently.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately using the company's Point of Sale system, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Investigate any discrepancies in cash, POS, or product and escalate as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues within the POS system.
  • Maintain accurate records of all dispensary activities, including customer records, sales, deliveries, and returns, in compliance with state regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct routine inventory counts of all products.
  • Ensure product stock is organized and compliant with regulations.
  • Assist managers in organizing sales floor merchandise and product displays.
  • Ensure security measures and safety compliance within the store according to company SOPs.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized environment for customers and team members.
  • Assist in onboarding and training Wellness Advisors, ensuring compliance with all company policies and state laws.
  • Promptly escalate employee relations issues to management.
  • Perform ad-hoc store opening and closing procedures, including preparing registers and managing inventory.
  • Complete shift checklists diligently.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service; cannabis experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to work shifts that may include opening, closing, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to engage effectively with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical and product-related information in a professional manner.
  • Ability to understand cannabinoids and their interactions with the human body.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance).
