Position: School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Location: Fort Worth, Texas

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to support students with communication challenges in a school environment. This role involves working under the guidance of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver tailored therapy sessions aimed at enhancing students' speech and language abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the evaluation of students' speech and language skills to determine their needs.
  • Implement therapy plans designed by the licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions focused on improving articulation, language understanding, and overall communication.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
  • Maintain detailed records of therapy sessions, including progress notes and treatment plans.
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay current with effective therapy methods and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or a related discipline is required.
  • Active Texas SLPA License is mandatory.
  • Experience with school-aged children facing speech and language difficulties is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic approaches, including AAC, PROMPT, and social communication strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Capability to maintain organized records, manage time efficiently, and prioritize responsibilities.
