Compensation: Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologists start at $77,000, while Speech Language Pathologists begin at $72,000. A $5,000 Bilingual Stipend is included for bilingual candidates.

Work Environment: This position allows for two remote workdays each week.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Delivery:

Design and implement speech-language pathology services for students experiencing speech, voice, or language challenges. Conduct assessments and coordinate therapeutic interventions aimed at mitigating issues that hinder students from fully benefiting from their educational experiences.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

A Master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited institution is required.

A valid Texas license as a speech-language pathologist issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) is mandatory.

Skills and Knowledge:

Proficiency in administering standardized assessments for communication disorders is essential.

Familiarity with the evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation processes for speech-language disorders is required.

Ability to effectively manage student behavior and provide clear instruction is necessary.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are vital.

Major Duties:

Therapeutic Interventions:

Conduct thorough evaluations to identify students with speech or language disorders and deliver tailored individual and group therapy in alignment with the goals outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEP). Monitor student progress and adjust therapy services as needed.

Develop clinical management strategies and diagnostic statements.

Participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee, aiding in the interpretation of assessment data and setting appropriate goals for students with communication challenges.

Consultative Support:

Engage with colleagues, students, and parents to discuss therapy objectives, student needs, and the remedial process.

Collaborate with classroom educators to design and implement activities that enhance students' communication abilities.

Provide professional development opportunities for school staff to better support students with communication deficits.

Student Engagement:

Create a learning environment that is conducive to student growth and aligns with their maturity levels and interests.

Program Oversight:

Develop and oversee a continuous evaluation of speech-language pathology services, making necessary adjustments based on findings.

Participate in the selection of appropriate equipment and instructional materials.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of all physical and electronic reports as required.

Actively engage in assessment team organization and planning to ensure compliance with federal and state evaluation expectations.

Adhere to policies established by federal and state regulations, as well as district and campus protocols.

May supervise licensed speech-language pathology assistants or aides.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Supervisory Duties:

May oversee the work of licensed speech-language pathology assistants or aides.

Physical and Mental Demands:

Equipment Utilized: Standard testing tools and office equipment, including computers and peripherals.

Posture and Motion: Frequent sitting, kneeling, bending, and walking are required, along with occasional lifting of light to moderate weights.

Work Environment: Exposure to biological hazards and communicable diseases may occur; district-wide travel may be necessary.

Mental Demands: The role involves frequent interruptions, requiring the ability to maintain emotional control under pressure.
