Our Environmental Division offers extensive solutions to fulfill the complete project lifecycle requirements of clients in sectors such as renewable energy, transmission, transportation, oil and gas, and manufacturing. Position Summary:

TRC is in search of an Environmental Scientist / Planner to become a vital member of our Permitting, Planning, and Licensing team. The selected candidate will have the flexibility to work from various locations.

This role emphasizes environmental planning and permitting across a range of projects and clients, particularly in renewable energy, electric generation, and pipeline sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of environmental field assessments.
  • Draft technical reports and correspondence.
  • Assist in the preparation of permit applications for federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Coordinate and communicate with regulatory agencies for consultations.
  • Provide technical support for proposal responses.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Engage in additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related field, along with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance and permitting regulations applicable in Florida.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a positive attitude in challenging conditions.
  • Proficiency in preparing clear and concise reports and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in drafting NEPA-related documents such as Environmental Assessments and Categorical Exclusions.
  • Expertise in routing linear projects to minimize environmental impact.
  • Experience in evaluating projects for environmental impacts and necessary permitting procedures.
  • Willingness to spend approximately 50% of time in fieldwork.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS and/or Fulcrum software.

Compensation: Compensation is determined by experience, education, skill level, and other relevant factors.
