Payroll Specialist II Job Description

The Judge Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist II to join our team. As a key member of our payroll department, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payment for employees.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll for employees in a timely and accurate manner, working closely with the payroll manager to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Verify and input data from timesheets, attendance records, and other sources into the payroll system, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Calculate wages, taxes, deductions, and other withholdings, utilizing payroll software and knowledge of payroll principles and practices.
  • Issue paychecks or direct deposits to employees and distribute pay stubs or statements, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Prepare and maintain payroll records, reports, and statements, including tax forms, benefits summaries, and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and requests from employees, managers, and external parties, providing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any payroll errors or discrepancies, working collaboratively with the payroll manager and other team members.
  • Update employee information and payroll changes in the payroll system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws, regulations, and best practices, staying up-to-date with changes and developments in the field.
  • Support payroll audits and reviews by providing relevant documentation and information, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in payroll administration or a related field, with a strong understanding of payroll software and principles.
  • Proficiency in payroll software, with a preference for Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics, or UKG.
  • Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and regulations, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent accounting and math skills, with the ability to work with large amounts of data and perform accurate calculations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
