Assistant Operator 1st Shift Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Operator 1st Shift to join our team at Pratt Retail Specialties. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assisting the Machine Operator in maximizing equipment utilization, improving setup times, and maintaining high-quality production standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Machine Operator in operating production machines, including setup, operation, and cleanup, to ensure efficient and safe production processes.
- Participate in plant safety initiatives and adhere to Pratt Industries' safety rules and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and quality procedures to ensure high-quality products and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with the Machine Operator to identify and address mechanical concerns, report to production supervisors, and implement improvements to optimize equipment performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to housekeeping standards and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Assist in completing necessary reports, including production data, machine operational status, safety data, and quality data.
- Turn in maintenance work order requests to supervision for needed repairs on the machine or machines.
- Switch duties with co-workers as necessary to support plant growth and personal and professional growth opportunities.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Adhere to production schedules and make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, and service goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior work experience in the packaging industry, paper, plastics, or converting preferred.
- 6 months' experience in some type of manufacturing operation preferred.
- Able to read and follow instructions, quality, safety, and job packets.
- Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy and apply concepts of high school math.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, and loud noise levels. The employee may occasionally be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
