Injection Molding Operations Expert

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Injection Molding Technician to join our team at ITW Medical. This role is essential for ensuring the efficiency and quality of our molding operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mold changeovers while identifying part defects, determining root causes, and implementing effective corrective measures.
- Perform preventative maintenance on injection molds, which includes scheduled inspections, disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of complex mold tooling.
- Ensure mold tooling dimensional accuracy by verifying conformance to print tolerances using reliable measurement techniques.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all maintenance activities performed on mold tooling.
- Set up and operate molding machinery along with associated support equipment.
- Assist in executing scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate closely with setup technicians and operators to guarantee the proper functioning of equipment.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping within the work area.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety protocols.
- Implement Good Manufacturing Practices consistently.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of combined experience in plastic injection molding and tooling.
- Familiarity with the Validation Process.
- Ability to make independent tooling recommendations based on expertise.
- Proven capability to effectively train technician trainees.
- Strong communication and interpretation skills, along with good visual skills for assessing equipment functionality.
- Above basic mathematical skills and a solid computer skill set are required.
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn and adapt are essential.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
Physical Requirements
- Must be capable of occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for the duration of a manufacturing shift, reach with arms extended or overhead, and demonstrate excellent hand dexterity.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, and perform similar activities as required.
- Flexibility to accommodate occasional changes in schedule when necessary.
- Must be able to safely operate the required equipment to perform job functions.
