Job Overview

The Senior Construction Project Leader will oversee all dimensions of design-build and engineer-procure-construct projects. This role encompasses the management and administration of the primary contract, along with the supervision of engineering, design, procurement, scheduling, and construction management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs and coordinates integrated Design-Build (DB) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) teams from project initiation to completion.
  • Administers and manages the primary contract, construction subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Ensures alignment with client objectives regarding safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Plans, executes, and reports on overall project performance.
  • Facilitates effective communication and coordination between the project and other activities at the job site.
  • Identifies and resolves potential disputes efficiently.
  • Oversees compliance with project-specific health and safety plans, as well as quality control and assurance measures.
  • Supervises Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Handles Requests for Information and conducts value engineering and constructability reviews.
  • Develops procurement status reports in collaboration with engineering, procurement, scheduling, and estimating teams.
  • Coordinates local bidding efforts with procurement teams.
  • Reviews and approves invoices related to subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Monitors the progress of engineering design and construction activities.
  • Administers changes to the primary contract and develops project-specific schedules.
  • Prepares and presents monthly reports on progress, budget forecasts, and schedule management.
  • Conducts project close-out and warranty administration.
  • Trains and mentors junior staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Over 10 years of experience in Construction Project Management, particularly with direct DB/EPC projects in the power delivery sector.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering, design, construction methodologies, and project management tasks.

  • Strong problem-solving and evaluation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Proficient in project management software, preferably Primavera P6.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel may be required, up to 50% of the time, depending on project needs.
