Key Responsibilities:
  • This role is typically filled by an individual with a minimum of 6+ years' experience in Project Engineering or a combination of system application engineering and technician experience. The individual will plan, direct, and coordinate project team activities to ensure projects are executed in compliance with all company and site safety standards, completed on schedule, and managed within budget constraints.
  • Project leaders must possess knowledge of the construction industry, excellent communication skills, a solid understanding of contracting processes, and experience with project documentation, timely change notifications, claims management, negotiation, and vendor oversight. Familiarity with HVAC, BMS, and/or security systems, along with a practical understanding of construction methods, building codes, and standards, is essential.
  • Strong leadership capabilities are required, including the ability to guide team members and empower others through effective delegation. Project leaders report to the Operations Manager or a Program Manager in larger operational teams.
Qualifications for Success:
  • Responsible for financial oversight on all assigned projects.
  • Prepares bidding documents for installation subcontractors, negotiates contracts, and manages schedules, change orders, and billing processes.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for all customer communications.
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of employees and subcontractors on-site, including the development of safety plans, conducting site audits, providing personal protective equipment (PPE), and leading toolbox talks while adhering to job site requirements.
  • Manages resources through effective planning, scheduling, and forecasting of manpower and resource needs.
  • Generates a Project Execution Plan for leadership approval when necessary and executes projects in alignment with contract documents, project estimates, and approved plans.
  • Organizes and maintains all project contract documents using Schneider Electric project management tools.
  • Accountable for comprehensive project documentation, including RFI's, meeting minutes, punch lists, transmittal logs, submittal logs, change order logs, and issue logs.
  • Prepares project revenue forecasts, schedules of values, and billing statements.
  • Strives to enhance gross margin on all projects by optimizing labor efficiencies, outsourcing, and strategic purchasing to minimize costs.
  • Updates project schedules and cost-to-complete estimates regularly.
  • Coordinates all change order reviews and pricing activities, including estimating and proposal creation.
  • Delivers final project documentation to clients and ensures payment collection.
  • Capable of drafting written recovery plans for underperforming projects.
  • Ensures quality assurance and quality control for project documentation and compliance with CPP.b requirements.
  • Facilitates project turnover to service and customer, participating in standard field startup and checkout processes.
