Job Title: Clerk 2

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Clerk 2 in the Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) Section. This role will involve performing general clerical tasks, maintaining files, and providing excellent customer service to our employees and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general clerical tasks, including mailroom, front desk, and file room duties
  • Maintain files of receipts and mailing lists for law enforcement agencies
  • Provide information to employees on mailing procedures
  • Operate personal computer to enter and retrieve data into division databases
  • Perform other clerical tasks, including counting, alphabetizing, separating, collating, coding, filing, sorting, and distributing records
  • Operate mail sorting machine
  • Assist in sorting, picking up, distributing, and/or sending out mail to appropriate sections, offices, or post office
  • Prepare Express and/or UPS letters and packages
  • Label, fold, and/or staple materials
  • Act as receptionist, greeting and registering visitors, answering and routing calls, and paging employees
  • Type various materials and operate personal computer as needed

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • Four months of training or experience in office practices and procedures
  • Three months of training or experience in the use of personal computers
  • Three months of training or experience in customer service
