Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team at Grant-Shannon Staffing. This is a full-time, direct hire position that requires a strong background in human resources management, preferably in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage employee benefits, including renewal and enrollment, and coordinate with insurance brokers.
  • Oversee the employee review process, including updating assigned reviewers and overseeing the Administrative Assistant.
  • Update employee guidelines, personnel files, and state and federal employment posters.
  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer with the company's retirement plan.
  • Assist management in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring technical staff.
  • Prepare and update affirmative action plans and equal employment opportunity documents.
  • Administer new employee orientation and coordinate individual information, including payroll, benefits, and other miscellaneous information.
  • Conduct and process paperwork for terminating employees, including payroll, COBRA, and benefits information.
  • Activate and deactivate building access cards for employees.
  • Coordinate leaves of absence with employees, including Family and Medical Leave and disability.
  • Track training and seminars for employees and maintain a database of continuing education/professional development credits.
  • Oversee and update the Human Resources SharePoint site as necessary.
  • Assist the Board of Directors and Chief Financial Officer with HR tasks and issues as needed.
Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources or Interpersonal Relations.

Experience: Minimum fifteen years of human resource management experience, preferably in architecture, engineering, or construction.

Skills/Job Knowledge: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, insurance background, and employment law knowledge.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to drive strategic direction.
  • Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent skills in project management and collaborative problem-solving with employees and management.
  • Exceptional leadership, management, and change management skills.
  • Demonstrates a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices.
  • Ability to foster trust and build credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied HR information systems.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner and collaborate effectively and positively with coworkers.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
  • HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is preferred.

Computer and Equipment Skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook.
