Job Overview

VPG Enterprise is a comprehensive general contracting firm dedicated to excellence in construction management. We are seeking a qualified Site Construction Manager to oversee various projects concurrently. The successful candidate will possess expertise in the following areas:

  • Facilitating procurement processes and negotiating with subcontractors
  • Maintaining daily logs of site activities
  • Engaging with clients and subcontractors effectively
  • Managing project timelines using Microsoft Project
  • Conducting weekly progress meetings with stakeholders
  • Coordinating schedules and meetings with subcontractors on a weekly basis
  • Organizing subcontractor and vendor schedules to ensure timely project completion
  • Monitoring subcontractor performance and progress in relation to the construction timeline
  • Overseeing material orders and delivery logistics
  • Identifying drawing discrepancies and field challenges, submitting RFIs to the design team
  • Ensuring a tidy and organized job site
  • Executing all functions related to site supervision

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of supervisory experience in managing comparable construction projects. Experience in retail grocery, mixed-use retail, and commercial construction is highly desirable. Key qualifications include:

  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
  • Strong supervisory and field coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and MS operating systems.
  • Clear verbal communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Cal OSHA safety regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various work divisions.

  • Ability to take initiative and manage time effectively.
  • Capability to perform well under pressure, multitask, and prioritize tasks.
  • Willingness to enforce disciplinary measures and delegate responsibilities as necessary.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Requirements:

  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Eligible to be insured as an authorized driver for the company.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
