Job Summary

AvalonBay Communities is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and preventive maintenance efforts for one or more assigned communities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in apartment maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the maintenance and preventive maintenance efforts for assigned communities
Supervise and develop maintenance staff
Conduct property visits and work with on-site supervisors to increase proficiency and performance
Maintain oversight of maintenance operations and ensure compliance with AVB's operational standards and applicable laws and regulations

Requirements

3-5 years of apartment maintenance experience, including strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
Valid driver's license and automobile insurance, where applicable
EPA Type I, II Certification, where applicable
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification, where applicable
Ability to communicate effectively with associates, residents, and vendors
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
