Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Supervisor

Job Overview:

The Industrial Maintenance Supervisor plays a key role in developing the maintenance team's ownership, skills, and execution of Standard Maintenance Practices, the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and Process Control.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the team while also performing hands-on tasks (as needed)on state-of-the-art industrial equipment, as well as facilities maintenance.
  2. Ensure regulatory compliance re: health & safety, quality, HR, and environmental standards.
  3. Improve reliability of production lines & ensuring machinery downtimes are reduced.
  4. Support building the maintenance team's technical & functional capabilities.
  5. Lead and support the strategic performance development of the maintenance team to continually improve maintenance strategies and equipment efficiencies.
  6. Oversee preventive, predictive maintenance, MRO Inventory control and planning.
  7. Support teamwork between maintenance and other departments.
  8. Actively participates in the daily production meetings a key component of the operating team.
  9. Manage the employee experience: safety, performance, enforcement of company policies, resolution of team/personnel issues, time & attendance etc.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Competencies:

  1. Experience in a supervisory capacity in an industrial environment with knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance.
  2. Strong planning skills to manage shift operations.
  3. Proactive mind-set and flexibility are important as well as the ability to work under just-in-time pressures.
  4. Ability to take control of situations and follow them through to a successful end-result.
  5. Excellent organizational and time management skill.
  6. Solid problem solving and decision-making skills, sense of urgency, attention to detail,ability to execute multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  7. A positive, "can do" attitude.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Education & Experience:

  1. This position usually requires minimum an Associate's degree in a related field.
  2. 5+ years of industrial maintenance and supervisory experience.
  3. Available for weekend and off-shift hours.
  4. Attention to detail and effective follow-through.
  5. Outstanding, verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Strong computer and administrative skills (MS Office, CMMS, payroll system etc.)

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, heat and extreme cold, and food allergens.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
