Baked goods are part of our most celebratory social experiences, but many baking products compromise on quality and leave people feeling uninspired. We’re taking on the Betty Crockers and McCormicks, building an iconic baking brand for the 21st century. We make Baking Extracts and Baking Mixes with professional quality ingredients, inspiring flavors, and offer them at excellent prices so that bakers from novices to professionals can create something delicious for their loved ones. Our founders are experienced entrepreneurs and investors with track records of building exceptional consumer brands, and our company is well-funded and profitable. We’re looking for an uncommonly capable, high-impact and growth-oriented person to be one of our first five full-time team members.


Your Mission:

You’ll be the second member of our operations team, tasked with managing a growing supply chain and order book, while helping build the Ops machine that will scale Rising Star into a national brand. As an early team member at a startup, you’ll have a wide variety of opportunities to both creatively solve problems and step up to manage new processes. We’re looking for someone with the ambition to be a future Ops leader and there will be ample opportunity and exposure to help you get there.


You are a high-energy, highly motivated individual with 3+ years of supply chain and operations experience in the CPG industry, particularly in Food & Beverage. You excel in implementing processes where they don’t exist, are ready to lead omni-channel order & inventory management, can adapt to frequent change, and like to take on new challenges. You’re someone who is looking for your next hands-on opportunity to grow your supply chain career with a rapidly growing brand.


Who you are:

 

  • 3+ years of Supply Chain & Operations experience in the CPG industry, with a solid understanding of Retail, DTC, and 3PL fulfillment operations
  • Some experience in Food & Beverage preferred
  • Capable of handling the challenges of managing multiple product lines and customers across different fulfillment channels
  • Proven in a startup environment; versatile, comfortable with a fast pace, and able to operate autonomously
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills for building and maintaining relationships with supply chain partners
  • Process-oriented mindset with the capability to identify issues, develop scalable solutions, and implement them
  • Great at excel, and have some experience in SPS Commerce and an ERP system or two
  • Proactive problem-solver with a willingness to tackle whatever comes up
  • Curious to learn, likely to innovate, and willing to challenge existing norms
  • An aspiring leader in Operations who wants to accelerate their career

What you’ll do:

  • Own all order management from start to finish in all channels – manage EDI order workflows and OTIF rates with retail partners, monitor Ecommerce order fulfillment and ensure timely turnaround of DTC orders
  • Oversee rapid channel and product line expansion and building of new distribution relationships
  • Assist finance with invoicing and investigating and disputing retailer chargebacks
  • Manage inventory levels between fulfillment centers
  • Manage Amazon FBA inventory, DTC inventory, and marketing fulfillment
  • Go-to contact for 3PL partners – lead fulfillment strategy, optimization projects & manage costs to budget
  • Report on key supply chain KPIs & cost metrics such as OTIF, fulfillment cost, etc.
  • Other projects & duties as-assigned – we all wear a lot of hats
