Position Summary:
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will deliver engineering and consulting services across a diverse range of projects and clients. Your responsibilities will encompass conducting and/or overseeing field investigations, performing engineering analyses, calculations, and formulating recommendations, as well as designing and developing plans and specifications. You will also be involved in observation and inspection, along with the preparation and review of related reports. Your role will include reviewing drawings and construction to ensure adherence to plans and specifications, preparing proposals and cost estimates, and monitoring project progress and budgets while suggesting necessary adjustments. You will research and resolve design and construction challenges, evaluate laboratory or field data for report inclusion, and effectively communicate complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your services may be applicable to existing or proposed projects in sectors such as public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Champion safety initiatives for the team, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and fostering a secure work environment.
  • Encourage ongoing quality assessment and enhancement on projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of project-related risks and implement measures to safeguard the company, in line with risk management policies.
  • Provide senior-level engineering expertise, guiding the production and completion of both standard and complex projects.
  • Oversee the conceptualization of initial designs or investigative strategies for major project phases or assume overall responsibility for engineering tasks on moderately scoped projects.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering activities, addressing conventional practices while accommodating complex features and conflicting design requirements.
  • Review projects necessitating innovative investigation techniques and supervise the analysis and formulation of recommendations in client reports; conduct technical reviews of these reports.
  • Lead technical training initiatives and make informed decisions based on contemporary technological advancements.
  • Drive marketing, sales, and business development efforts.
  • Supervise junior engineers or technical support staff on various projects.
  • Act as an Authorized Project Reviewer.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 8-11 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration; California (GE) registration is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory violation history.
