Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced National Sales Representative to join our team at Stryker Employment Company, LLC. As a National Sales Representative, you will be responsible for supporting the Neurosurgical business unit by providing coverage for Leaves of Absence, working directly with Sales Representatives, and promoting Stryker products to doctors, nurses, and staff personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide coverage for Leaves of Absence, typically 4 weeks or longer, for Sales Representatives in the region.
  • Work directly with Sales Representatives within a region to help aid with the planning, directing, and coordination of selling, marketing, and portion of Stryker products.
  • Educate and inform doctors, nurses, and staff personnel as to the proper use and maintenance of Stryker products, product functionality, and updates.
  • Promote Stryker products to doctors, nurses, and staff personnel while providing excellent customer service and developing the customer relationship.
  • Following extensive product training, the employee must be able to tailor Stryker's promotional message based upon knowledge of the customer, advise on appropriate product selection, answer customer questions about product functionality, and distinguish Stryker products from those of Stryker's competitors.
  • May direct product evaluations in OR and office settings.
  • May assist in the preparation and operation of trade shows, conventions, and/or clinical meetings.
  • Keeps sales representative informed of territory progress on a regular basis.
  • Solves product problems for customers in an expeditious fashion.
  • May assist in the training and development of sales personnel.
  • Must understand and adhere to all OR and pertinent OSHA guidelines when conducting a product evaluation.
  • Must exhibit a base understanding of computers for best utilization of Stryker SIS program.
  • Must adhere rigidly to all GMP policies and procedures as stipulated by the FDA.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 2+ years of proven work experience, medical-related fields preferred.
  • Prior sales or marketing experience preferred.
  • Must be able to readily solve customer complaints and questions.
  • Must have command of all products sold or marketed by the business unit, including functionality, features, and factors that differentiate Stryker products from its competitors' products, and be able to disseminate this knowledge to the customer.
  • Must be able to analyze territory market potential and prioritize call patterns accordingly.
Travel Requirements

95% overnight travel is required for this position. Must be able to drive an automobile.

  • 12-month commitment to the role to allow for coverage and consistency.
Compensation

$70,000 - $77,000 salary, plus bonus-eligible and benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. You will also be eligible for a weekly rate when you are deployed to cover Leave of Absence.
